Amanda has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2018. She is certified by the Vodder School in Manual Lymphatic Drainage & Combined Decongestive Therapy for lymphedema, lipedema, chronic venous insufficiency and cancer rehab.
Lymphatic massage is very light and rhythmic stretching of the skin in a specific pattern that is designed to stimulate lymph flow and drain the affected tissue of excess water and protein. This can help people with lymphedema, traumatic injuries, headaches, whiplash, skin conditions, sinus congestion, arthralgias, insomnia, muscle soreness, and to reduce surgical swelling (including mastectomy rehab).
Other modalities may include: myofascial release, assisted stretching, muscle energy techniques, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and lymphatic drainage. Often oil is not used to target skin and fascia effectively.
After many years abroad as a humanitarian aid worker throughout Southeast Asia, Amanda now finds her sense of purpose in helping people of all ages and backgrounds at home in her community. She strives to support each person’s unique physical and emotional needs to live their best life. During treatment, expect to experience various types of pressure and techniques to target not only skin and muscles but also organs and the nervous system as a whole.
Amanda’s areas of interest include: sports injuries, joint mobility, chronic headaches/migraines, jaw tension, rib mobility, digestion, cancer and surgical related swelling reduction, and breast/mastectomy rehab.
