Amanda has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since graduating from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2018. After many years abroad as a humanitarian aid worker throughout Southeast Asia, she now finds her sense of purpose in helping people of all ages and backgrounds at home in her community. She strives to support each person’s unique physical and emotional needs to live their best life- active, healthy and happy. During treatment, expect to experience various types of pressure and techniques to target not only muscles and bones but also organs and the nervous system as a whole. Modalities like fascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and stretching may be used.
Amanda grew up doing a number of sports including tennis, dance, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, and competitive figure skating. Her hobbies now mainly include scuba diving, kayaking, HIIT training, cycling, fishing, horseback riding and cruising around Kits on her yellow Vespa scooter. She also makes a mean Thai prawn curry (แกงเขียวหวาน) and speaks fluent Thai!
Some of her treatment interests include sports injuries and performance, headaches and tinnitus, neck and back pain, digestion, rib and spinal mobility, postural imbalances and fascial release for scar tissue after surgery or trauma. Amanda has completed additional training for disc herniations and sciatica, TMJ and cervical tension, visceral manipulation, and post caesarean section treatment. She also plans to continue her education in manual lymphatic drainage techniques for post mastectomy rehab and lymphedema.
